Whats a Social Ad and why is there one on my main profile?
Social ads are a way of promoting your blogs around the site, a targeted 'Ad' is placed in the right hand column of your profile with a link to a members blog and profile. If however you do not fill in your profile information a social ad will be shown in place of your 'about' text, this encourages you to fill in your profile information add your blogs and network on the site.

Why is there a Twitter logo next to my updates?
A Twitter logo will appear next to any update where that update is sent to your Twitter account. If you do not choose to update your Twitter and dotdashcreate status at the same time there will be no icon next to your updates.

By participating within the community you will notice your Status will increase, a few things you can do to increase your status are participate in discussions, leave comments on profiles, and leave updates to name a few. general profile activity also contributes.
